About

Hi!

My name’s Kai, I’m a passionate engineering technologist with a focus in mechanical design and manufacturing processes, certified additive manufacturing technician and manufacturing associate, and student member of OACETT (Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists) working towards my C.E.T (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation.

I have brought several projects, both personal and professional, from conception to reality, ranging from model rockets to plastic shredding machines. I can confidently say that I am living my childhood dream of becoming an engineering designer because it’s not just a job for me, it’s my life’s calling.

I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, a small, rural city in Northwestern Ontario isolated from most of the rest of the province. I have always been enthusiastic about engineering, ever since I was a boy playing with Legos, and taking apart anything I could get my hands and then putting them back together – from pens to controllers. Inherently, the reason why I love engineering so much is because projects are just like puzzles to me, and all I have to do is find the right pieces so that it all fits together and works.

In addition to being an engineering technologist, I am also a proud geek, lifelong learner, maker/tinkerer, creative, and a deep thinker. I am someone with many different interests, a positive attitude to brighten any day, and a drive to do the best possible job, no matter what obstacles may present themselves. My aspirations are to eventually become a professional engineer, but to be the best engineer, I need to be the best technologist first.
